The KZN South Coast continues to experience strong investor momentum, with South Coast Tourism and Investment Enterprise (SCTIE) recently in the spotlight for increasing local and national investor interest in the region’s growing economic potential.
Margate Airport has become a key driver of this momentum, enhancing accessibility and strengthening confidence in the South Coast as a strategic tourism, business and logistics hub. The airport’s modernised infrastructure continues to support new commercial and aviation linked investment opportunities.
The airport’s upgrade was delivered through a partnership between Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) and private sector stakeholders, as part of efforts to enhance regional investment infrastructure.

Improved connectivity is further supported by regular scheduled services operated by CemAir, strengthening access for investors and business travellers.
Cemair announced adding a second flight for the Margate route, likely due to high demand during peak seasons providing more options for travellers heading to this popular coastal town.
