I’ve just returned from a shoot in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, focused on the new Albida development and the various outdoor experiences packaged with visiting the area.
We limbered up for morning yoga sessions; chased lunar rainbows on a full moon night at the falls; dipped into Devil’s Pool perched on the edge of the ‘smoke that thunders’; hiked the hardwood forests around Victoria Falls Safari Lodge; drank the best coffee ever (really!) at Goat Café; birded the rain forest enveloping #mosioatunya; did Zambezi river cruises and visited private game reserves; and dodged two elephants in the main street outside the Three Monkeys Pub!
The article will share the good news that this iconic area is once again rising up from the ashes, with tourism in Zimbabwe booming. Beaming smiles, a comparatively slick airport experience, excellent value for money, and one of the world’s undisputed natural wonders … You get it all, in a place where Africa’s authenticity remains undiminished, earthy and real.
